Outside the streets, protestors march to Ukrainian governmental buildings, armed with knives, guns, rocks, and flags. Riots are common occurrences. The Berkut forces aggressively attempt to dissipate the riots. While the rioters throw nearby rocks at the them, the Berkut charge with shields, batons, and rifles. The rioters only react with more aggression.
Elsewhere, Ukrainian Christians struggle to understand the hellish chaos in their homeland. Many hold to Orthodox Christianity, but perceive only traditions that fail to give light to their current situation. Many are unaware of the Bibles teachings at all. Hope and faith are as scarce as the peace out in the streets.
But by God’s goodness, Ukrainians have tuned in to FEBC’s broadcasts to their area. Since the past twenty years, FEBC has reached over 3 million Ukrainians within five regions, bringing the Gospel and evangelical Christian messages to the country. Through their radio sets, they hear messages of Jesus, hope, faith, love, peace, and strength in suffering.
“I’ve never heard the Bible applied to the contemporary human condition before… I will listen to your broadcasts everyday!” wrote one listener in Ukraine.
Our Ukrainian brothers and sisters in Christ urge us to pray for them and their country. Please keep Ukraine in your prayers. Pray for peace, protection, and comfort from their trials, found in Jesus.
