“Praise God for FEBC Radio Philippines for continuing to minister to our devastated neighborhoods.”
– Typhoon survivor in Tacloban
For the past week, our FEBC First Response Team has been broadcasting live from Tacloban City Hall, sending out critical updates and spiritual messages of encouragement to survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan. Powered by a generator, FEBC was the first of only 2 broadcast facilities setup in Tacloban at that time.
However, there was concern that we would not be able to broadcast for much longer due to insufficent fuel. Yet God is so faithful in providing. Tecson John Lim, the City Administrator of Tacloban, came to the FEBC team and assured them not to worry. The government would provide all the fuel we needed on one condition: that FEBC would become the Voice of the City in these difficult times.
Our broadcasts can now be heard farther away, and the City Administrator offered to help coordinate the distribution of our solar-powered radios to the most affected neighborhoods of the city.
Everyday, the FEBC First Response Team meets with key leaders from government agencies and international organizations, gathering critical information and relaying it to listeners throughout the day.

As a result, we hear encouraging responses from people affected by the disaster:
“Your airing will significantly reduce fear, pressure, pain, etc. amongst locals—especially with your mellow voice and encouraging discussions on-air.”
“God never changes. We must trust Him in spite of all circumstances… Don’t lose hope. God is bigger!”
Please pray for:
  • More people to tune into 98.7 FM to receive critical relief information, and that they will place their hope in the Lord, who is always present in times of despair.
  • Our First Response Radio team, who is working around the clock to bring critical news to survivors.
We thank you so much for your tremendous generousity in helping us reach the survivors of this disaster. There is a long road ahead and still a lot of work to be done. Please continue to support survivors in the Philppines through praye
