The left-back, who is yet to open his Manchester
United account, grew up supporting the Premier League leaders and has
graded his debut season at Old Trafford as a "C-"
Luke Shaw has admitted he will not celebrating scoring his first goal for Manchester United if it comes against Chelsea on Saturday. The left-back became the highest-paid teenager in world football when he completed a £27 million move, with United beating off competition from Chelsea to seal his signature.
Shaw has struggled to replicate his Southampton form since, failing to score or register an assist during 12 Premier League appearances in an injury-ravaged debut season.
However, the England international has revealed if he is selected to play at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and scores he would be reluctant to celebrate after growing up supporting Jose Mourinho's side.
"I used to watch Chelsea every week," he told Match of the Day magazine. "It was really good when I got to play at Stamford Bridge, I would say that's my favourite away stadium to go to.
"Chelsea is one of the first games I look for when the new fixtures come out. I haven't scored yet so I don't know. If my first goal was to come against Chelsea I'm not sure what I'd do."
Shaw has described himself as "one of the luckiest 19 year olds alive" to be a United player, but feels his own contributions this season deserve just a "C-" grade.
He added: "It's been a frustrating one because of the injuries I've picked up but I'm loving it. If I was to write a school report on my first season here I'd give myself a C-.
"You don't realise just how big Man United is until you're actually here – it's frightening! It is the biggest club around.
"I'm playing with the likes of Wayne Rooney, [Angel] Di Maria, [Radamel] Falcao and it's weird because my friends always talk about them, saying how good they are and I'm just thinking "Wow, I play with them!"
